Our services are built around the internationally recognised energy auditing standards of BS EN 16247:2022 and ISO 50002 and are compatible with the requirements of the UK Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and the new PAS 51215:2025 for energy and decarbonisation assessments.

About Us
Prometheus Energy Consulting was established in 2025 by James Patterson, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute with 30+ years’ experience in energy efficiency, energy and carbon management, building services engineering, and technical advisory roles.
James has delivered projects across industrial sectors including food and drink, chemicals and petrochemicals, automotive, pharmaceuticals, cement and aggregates, glass, printing and packaging, water and wastewater, and general manufacturing.
Commercial experience includes aviation, cold storage, data centres, commercial property, hospitality, ports, and logistics. Public sector work includes education, healthcare, local and national government, sports and leisure, cultural institutions, and heat network schemes.
James is on the Energy Institute’s Energy Efficiency Experts Register and is an accredited ESOS Lead Assessor. Prometheus works with a network of trusted associates, allowing agile project teams when needed.
Based in the Peak District (just outside Manchester), we support clients across the UK and internationally.
